Welcome to the memorial page for

George E. O'Connor

May 21, 1952 ~ December 13, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old

George E. O'Connor. Age 65. December 13, 2017.

On December 13, 2017 George's mind and soul became whole and at peace; he no longer suffers any pain. He's probably playing guitar with John and George, doing some fishing and playing softball.

George fought and worked hard through his illnesses for so long. He was stronger than he realized or gave himself credit for.

He was a loyal man to his friends, family and even to the Phillies at their lowest points. He was generous with his knowledge, always ready to help in any way he could. George was thoughtful and perceptive. He would make a mental note of something a family member or friend mentioned in passing or showed an interest in, and months later he would remember and give them a gift befitting that interest.

George had many interests and became very knowledgeable of each. He enjoyed sports - he knew facts, figures and dates, especially about the Phillies. He was a very good photographer. He carefully selected specific photos according to each person's likes and printed, framed and gave them as gifts to his family, friends and some of his doctors.

Fishing was a passion for George, a relaxing way to spend time in the beautiful outdoors. He enjoyed many wonderful vacations with his wife, especially Disney World and Sanibel Island, and their day trips to the Poconos, shore, zoo, parks and many other places. George could play the guitar, sing, and he tried his hand at writing songs. He also had tropical fish aquariums and model trains as hobbies, and he was handy with tools around the house.

Of course, the Beatles were a very big part of his life; he loved their music and had a vast knowledge of them.

Most of all, George was a wonderful, thoughtful and loving husband. He was always supportive and complimentary of his wife. He is and will be missed very much.

George is survived by his wife, Debbie, his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Evie Konsler, whom he called Dad and Mom, his sister-in-law, Susan Ifkovitz, and his nephew, Matt Ifkovitz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Constance O'Connor.
