Thomas J. McCann of Philadelphia died peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Immaculate Mary Home after a struggle with Parkinson' Disease and Dementia. He was 74 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved son of the late James McCann and Margaret (Mohan) McCann and brother of the late Kathleen McCann Tustin.
He is survived by his niece, Christine Emmerich and her husband, Robert Emmerich, Jr., of Southampton, and their children, Ryan and Caroline Emmerich. Also survived by his great-niece, Melissa Tustin-Gore.
Thomas was a graduate of Penn State University and was employed by the City of Philadelphia as a Playground Recreation Leader until he retired. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading literature, poetry and doing crossword puzzles. He was a long-time member of the United Republican Club on Frankford Avenue and enjoyed time he spent there with friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 10:00 -11:00 A.M. at Hollen Funeral Home, Inc., 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA followed by a Religious Service at 11:00 A.M.
Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
