Frank William Brown

Frank William Brown died Monday, January 17, 2022, with his wife of 34 years, Gladys Brown, by his side. Frank was born in St. Joan of Arc Parish in Philadelphia, where he lived and worked at Action Manufacture and the Philadelphia Airport before retiring to Weatherly, PA. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank W. Brown, Sr., mother, Katherine H. Fisher, as well as daughter, Teresa, and sister, Katherine Brown. In addition to his wife, Gladys, Frank is survived by his brothers, Harry and Bobby Burkart, children, Andrew (Patricia), Debra (Dennis), Gerald (Colleen), Nancy (Scott) and William (Kim), as well as 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Frank was an avid outdoorsman, which he showed through his love of fishing and hunting. Many times, he was awarded for record-breaking fish caught or award-winning prize deer or fowl. He mastered his hobby and love of woodworking, hand making furniture pieces for his home. Philadelphia sports was an important part of Frank’s life. Whether it was the Eagles, Flyers or Phillies, he loved to watch the games and root on his team. In 1956, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army. Shortly after completing his Army enlistment obligation, he enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard, where he spent an additional 15 years of service. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. at Hollen Funeral Home, Inc., 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA 19124. Religious service at 1:30 P.M. 

Inurnment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
