Joan M. (Duff) Hammond

Joan M. Hammond (nee Duff), 94, July 20, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Francis Hammond, loving mother of Frank, Jr. (Lynn), Michael (Sandra), Mary Virgara (Ronald) and Julia Cohn (Alan). Joan was a cherished grandmother to Jennifer Storm (Jeromy), the late Nicholas Virgara (Carolyn), Ronald VIrgara, Jr. (Fatima), Erin Zahid (Youssef), Eric Hammond, Jessica Nelson (Christopher) and Jonathan Cohn, and a great-grandmother of 10 and great-great-grandmother of 3. She was survived by her sister, Patricia Lownds, numerous nieces and nephews and many great friends.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Julia and James, her brothers, James, Joseph and Larry, and her sisters, Julia, Sr. Mary, Kathleen and Anne.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at Hollen Funeral Home, Inc., 3160 Grant Avenue (West of Academy Road), Philadelphia, PA 19114.  

Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
