John Frederick Settle

On March 19, 2022, John F. Settle, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully in his home with his devoted wife, Patricia M. Settle, by his side.

John was born on October 22, 1942 in Philadelphia to John Raymond Settle and Hazel Christine Settle. At 15-years-old, John met the love of his life on the playground, and four years later John married Patricia McCafferty Settle on October 20, 1962. They raised four children together:  John Frederick Settle, Jr., James Edward Settle, Patricia Ann Settle and Thomasina Settle.

John started his career at Precision Grinding Wheel.  He enjoyed helping others and actively working as a "Jack-of-All-Trades" handyman. His greatest pleasure was being a loving, caring husband and family man. He could always be heard humming his favorite tunes, especially by his favorite musician, Elvis Presley. Not only did he love playing and watching baseball, he also was a diehard Eagles fan.

John was survived by his wife, Patricia M. Settle, his children, John F. Settle, Jr., James E. Settle, Patricia A. Settle and Thomasina Settle, his grandchildren, Brittany A. Ferretti-Maddalo, Crystal L. Settle, Edward C. Bayer III, Kaitlyn E. Lawniczak, Kimberly Settle, Nicole A. Wagner, Kayla (Bugs) Ferretti, Caden J. Wilson, Cohen J. Wilson, Jace David Settle, Tristan James Settle, his great-grandchildren, Alannah B. Bayer and Madison Yuro, and his brother, Walter R. Settle. He was predeceased by his parents, John R. Settle and Hazel C. Settle, his brother, James McGarrin, his sister, Grace Baumgardner, and brother-in-law, Richard Baumgardner.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends.
